knkPublishing will become the core publishing software of Edinburgh-based Witherby Publishing Group. The software will be used in the areas of Sales Order Processing, Subscriptions, Warehouse Management, Royalties, CRM, Financial Accounting, as well as for Marketing, and a feed to their online store. During the project, the in-house legacy ERP solution along with Sage for financial accounting will be replaced by knk’s suite of modular products.

Witherby will implement knkPublishing hosted in the Microsoft Azure Cloud, allowing their offices and remote workforce to access the same system and reduce the overhead on IT.

“We looked at several systems and chose knkPublishing as it provides an integrated solution that covers our entire business processes in one single application and it is based on a modern future-proof technology. Our aim was to find a standard solution which didn’t require expensive customization yet had sufficiently rich functionality to meet the needs of all departments. knk’s profound publishing industry knowledge shone through and this was also crucial to our decision”, Kat Heathcote, Commercial Director, explains.

“With the implementation of knkPublishing, we are taking the opportunity to streamline all internal and external processes, reducing manual intervention and automating more processes”, Kat Heathcote adds.

Iain Macneil, CEO of Witherby Publishing, points out: “Having knk as a strategic partner we feel like we are in safe hands. We are really impressed by knk’s professionalism and reliability and are looking forward to the project”.

John Lawson, Director of knk Software UK, is also looking forward to the future collaboration: “We are really enjoying working with Witherby, the largest independent publisher in Scotland, and are looking forward to delivering an end-to-end solution that addresses their needs and a collaborative long-term relationship thereafter”.
