The publishing software knkPublishing has successfully gone live at Norstedts Juridik (Karnov Group) in Sweden after a six-month implementation project.

knkPublishing now supports the whole product life cycle for print and digital products at Norstedts Juridik.

“We chose knkPublishing because it fully supports our media independent and streamlined product and project management processes,” states Therese Järnankar, Director of Business Development & Products at Norstedts Juridik. “knkPublishing and its graphical milestone planning, guides us through all our product planning and publication processes. Having done a thorough investigation of the market, we could see that knk were one of very few vendors having the features, functions and integration needed to support our vast pipeline and production. Also, the new system increases transparency throughout the product life cycle and across all departments.”

Norstedts Juridik (Karnov Group) the leading provider of legal information services in Sweden, implemented the following modules of knkPublishing: knk Editorial and Production Management, Metadata Management, Content and Project Management, knk’s Graphical Milestone Planning as well as knk’s interface framework (knk Integration Platform). In addition, there are plans for further parts of Norstedts Juridik’s value chain to be supported by knkPublishing.

Norstedts Juridik (Karnov Group) opted for deploying knkPublishing in the Azure cloud. As a Managed Services Provider, knk oversees the technical and application management of the cloud installation.

“We had a very ambitious time schedule for our first project phase”, explains Sven Wischhusen, COO of knk Business Software AG. “It was possible to go live after just six months because of the impressive commitment of Norstedts Juridik’s key users and the project implementation teams on both sides. When we began the project in May 2019, the Norstedts Juridik project team had already documented processes, data sources, user stories and requirements. This high-quality preparation work not only saved a lot of time right from the start, but constituted a solid foundation for the whole project. In addition, the Norstedts Juridik IT team took care of a major part of data migration and interface development using the knk Integration Platform themselves. This was another important success factor for the go-live at the end of November 2019.”
